Neon Exodus
Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
This policy explains what information Neon Exodus ("the game", "we", "us") collects, why, and the choices you have. The game is published by Charles Chang (Bao Bao Gaming Studios), Ontario, Canada. Playing the game is also covered by our terms of service.
The short version
- You can play without giving us your name or email. The game creates an anonymous account for you automatically.
- We collect only what the game needs to work: your saved progress, so it can be backed up and restored.
- This version of the game shows no ads and sells nothing. If that changes, we will update this policy first.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- You can delete your cloud save inside the game at any time, or ask us to delete everything (see Deleting your data).
What we collect
| Information | Why |
|---|---|
| Anonymous account ID, a random identifier created when you first play | To back up your progress and recognise you next time you open the game. |
| Saved game: stages and districts opened, Runners, weapons, credits and items in your stash, your Haven (rooms and the people you rescued), Case Board clues, quests and settings | To back up your progress and restore it if you reinstall or change devices. |
| Linked sign-in account (optional): if you choose to link Google, we receive an account identifier and the email address from Google | So you can recover your progress on a new device. The same sign-in is your Bao Bao Gaming Studios account and works across our games. |
| Technical data: IP address, device and app version, recorded in server logs | Security, preventing abuse, and fixing problems. Logs are kept for a limited time. |
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or microphone audio. The game does not use an advertising ID.
Information stored on your device
The game keeps a copy of your progress and settings (such as music volume) on your device so it works offline, plus a checkpoint of a run in progress so a closed app can resume it. Uninstalling the game removes these; your cloud backup remains until you delete it.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf, only to run the game:
- Supabase: hosts the game's server and database (accounts and cloud saves).
- Google: sign-in, if you choose to link it; Google Play also distributes the game.
Each provider has its own privacy policy. We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell or rent personal information.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
One account across our games
Neon Exodus shares its sign-in with our other games. Linking Google creates a Bao Bao Gaming Studios account, and the same login signs you in to any of our titles. Each game stores its own saved data against that one account, so deleting the account removes your progress in every one of our games.
Deleting your data
In the game: in the Haven, tap the ☁ cloud button at the top, then Delete cloud save. This immediately deletes your Neon Exodus cloud save. Your account and your progress in our other games are left untouched.
By email: you can ask us to delete your whole Bao Bao Gaming Studios account and everything linked to it by emailing the address below from the email linked to your account. Because it is a single account, this removes your data in every Bao Bao Gaming Studios game. We will complete the request within 30 days. Deletion cannot be undone. See also our account deletion page.
How long we keep it
We keep your game data while your account is active. Accounts that are inactive for 24 months may be deleted. Server logs are kept for a short period for security.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under Canada's PIPEDA and U.S. state laws such as California's CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal information and to withdraw consent. To make a request, contact us below.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and for significant changes (such as adding ads or purchases) we will let you know in the game.
