These terms are the agreement between you and Charles Chang (Bao Bao Gaming Studios), based in Ontario, Canada, for playing Neon Exodus ("the game"). Installing or playing the game means you accept them. If you do not, please do not play.
The short version
- The game is free to play. This version shows no ads and sells nothing.
- Credits, items, blueprints and unlocks are parts of a game, not property, and have no cash value.
- Play fairly and do not attack the game or its servers.
- Your progress is backed up to your account; you can delete it at any time.
Your licence to play
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play the game for your own entertainment. The game, its characters, art, music, story and code belong to us or our licensors.
Your account
Anonymous by default. The game creates an anonymous account so your progress can be backed up. If you uninstall without linking Google, that progress cannot be recovered.
Linking. Linking Google makes it a Bao Bao Gaming Studios account that also works in our other games. Keep your Google sign-in secure; actions taken with it are treated as yours.
Deleting. In the game, the ☁ cloud button in the Haven, then Delete cloud save, deletes Neon Exodus's cloud save only. You can also ask us to delete your whole account, as explained on the account deletion page. Deleting the whole account removes your progress in every one of our games that uses it, and cannot be undone.
Credits, items and unlocks
The game contains virtual items such as credits, salvage, blueprints, weapons, backpacks and unlocked Runners and stages. They exist only inside the game, have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be sold or transferred outside the game. We may rebalance what items cost, what they do and how often they appear.
If we add purchases or ads to the game in the future, we will update these terms before they appear.
Playing fairly
Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the game or its servers, and do not use another player's account. Modifying the game or its saved data to create items or progress you did not earn may cost you that progress and, in serious cases, the account.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13. Players under the age of majority where they live should have a parent or guardian's permission to play.
Changes, availability and ending
We may update, change or remove parts of the game, and we may stop offering it. We will try to give reasonable notice before the online features (such as cloud saves) are turned off. The game may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.
Our responsibility
The game is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of in-game progress. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will change the date above, and for significant changes we will let you know in the game. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
